PSE Marking Flow Chart



- The electrical appliance shall be checked if it has been listed in the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law.
- If not so, the PSE mark does not apply.
- If the business is type of manufacture and import, notification of business is required.
- In case of marketing, products can be marketed with the indication of a PSE mark
- Notification of business shall be submitted to The Economy and Industry Bureau within 30 days after the commencement.
- The appliances manufactured and imported are required to conform to national technical standards. However, confirmation is required, as there are some exceptions.
- Determine if it is a specified electrical appliance and material (115 items) or electrical appliance and material other than specified ones (339 items).
- In case of a specified electrical appliance and material, conformity assessment by an authorized conformity assessment body shall be conducted, and a statement of conformity shall be issued and retained. The factory / facility inspection is also required.
- In case of an electrical appliance and material other than specified ones, conformity assessment by third-party or in house shall be conducted.
- Manufacture and importation of products shall be started after passing a conformity assessment.
- Pre-shipment testing shall be done with a national test method. Its record shall be retained for 3 years from the test day.
- The PSE mark is affixed to the appliance that conformed to standards and performed the voluntary test, according to a national method (PSE mark, company name, rated voltage and current, etc.).
